Dr. Bradley J. Sommer and I discussed the Rust Belt and the American Midwest in Episode 200 of The History Voyager Podcast.
Dr. Sommer is a historian of American History. He graduated with a PhD from Carnegie Mellon University.
We also discussed some of the structural problems within the United States Government.
We discussed the urban/rural divide which continues to bedevil our politics.
I continue to think that the commercial revolution enabled by high-speed internet could be the boon that rural America needs.
It wouldn’t solve the greater political problems, of course, but accessible high-speed internet would spread out the urban professional worker. Doing that might help to bring America’s political strife to a close.
